Hosted by the African Development Bank (AfDB) and Allan Gray, Africa’s largest privately-owned investment manager, this series is a virtual edition of the ninth African Financial Markets Initiative/AfDB Annual Workshop.

Jamil joined Allan Gray in 2009 as an operations consultant in the Retail business. He has worked in a number of analytical roles, including as a business analyst looking into opportunities on the rest of the continent, and currently manages Allan Gray’s business in Nigeria. Jamil holds a BCom (Hons) from Wits and is a CFA® charterholder.
Presenter: Celestin Rwabukumba
Celestin chairs the East African Securities Exchanges Association, is CEO of the Rwanda Stock Exchange and an exco member of the African Securities Exchanges Association. He is also co-founder and chair of Kigali Cement Company, and a non-executive director of several hospitality and manufacturing entities. He has been instrumental in capital market regulation, development and integration in Rwanda and in the East African Community.
Presenter: Stefan Nalletamby
Stefan is the director for the Financial Sector Development Department at the AfDB since its creation in September 2014. He was previously the coordinator of Making Finance Work for Africa (MFW4A), and adviser to the vice president of Finance where he designed and launched the African Financial Markets Initiative. He was also group treasurer. Before joining the AfDB, he spent 12 years trading global bonds with BNP Paribas in Paris, Tokyo and Madrid.
Presenter: Mark Dunley-Owen
Mark joined Allan Gray in 2009 as an equity analyst. In September 2020, he joined Orbis as a member of the Bermuda Investment team. He is also a director of Allan Gray Bermuda Limited and part of the Investment team for the Allan Gray Africa ex-SA Bond Fund. Mark holds a BBusSc (Hons) from UCT and is a CFA® charterholder.
